  • lots of students from different backgrounds & minority groups
    • helps show them the fun in science
    • gives them a sense of belonging in STEM

  • played a predator-prey tag game to demonstrate advantages of certain adaptations

YMCA Camp Sloper Outreach

  • 143 acre outdoor campground donated to the YMCA by Cornelia Sloper Neil
  • located in Southington, CT
  • I work as a day camp counselor during the summer
    • have worked with kids ages 5-15
  • off-season I work school field trip days
    • nearby schools come here to have fun and experience the outdoors!
    • supervised a variety of different classrooms and made lasting impressions
